Al Banna

A personal journal of building things.

Hello

I’m Al Banna Muhammad. I like security and DevSecOps enough to do them for money and still read CVEs for fun (debatable life choice, 6/10 would recommend).

By day I’m a SOC analyst in the public sector. Which building? Not on this website — day-job letterhead stays in the work inbox; here we just admit I stare at alerts and pretend coffee is a personality.

By night / weekends / the cracks between meetings, I’m also a freelancer with Practical DevSecOps — same brain, different Slack workspace. I bounce between Bogor and Yogyakarta depending on mood and who needs me where; both have good coffee and traffic that builds character.

I’ve also hung around Komdigi and Solo Technopark in earlier chapters: less Marvel origin montage, more “rent was due and routers were honest work.” I studied Computer Engineering at Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta and lived to tell the tale. Certificates exist (CDP, CCSE, CCNA-shaped things, a general Cisco phase). Full trophy shelf → LinkedIn; I’m not pasting every badge here — this isn’t Steam achievement hunting.

This site

albanna.id is where I park things that don’t fit in a chat bubble: stuff I learned, broke, or fixed and then talked about for twelve paragraphs. English, Indonesian, and Javanese when the keyboard gets sentimental.

Vibes

  • Security explainers that don’t sound like a 40-tab PDF had a baby with a bored lawyer
  • Labs that feel like the real world, not a museum diorama with perfect lighting
  • Owning it when a “project” was a one-hour side quest, not the moon landing

Say hi via the icons up here, or LinkedIn. I try not to open with a Calendly link. Try.
