Saturday, 19 September 2026. Pakansari. Not a workshop. Not a coordination meeting with a numbered letter. Just sitting with a friend from another deputy, the kind of hang that starts as “kita ngopi dulu” and somehow becomes a product review.

We did what civil servants do when the office is off the clock: compare scars.

His unit has one pile of needs. Mine has another. Different bosses, different acronyms, same feeling that the week is a conveyor belt of rapat → catatan → dokumen yang harus kelihatan sopan. We joked about it the way you joke about a leak you cannot actually leave. Kedeputian A butuh ini. Kedeputian B butuh itu. Kita berdua butuh tidur.

Then I did the annoying thing. I opened a phone.

Show and tell, warung edition

I showed him albanna.id/notulensi—the little generator I built because I was tired of reconstructing the same minutes format after every call. Paste a transcript, fill the metadata, get a draft that already knows Pembahasan from Tindak Lanjut. Not magic. Just a machine that remembers the template so I do not have to, four times before lunch.

He watched. He nodded. He did the laugh that means okay, this is actually useful, which is different from the laugh that means you built a toy again.

Then he did the more useful thing. He argued with it.

“Bagus. Kurang dua.”

His deputy does not write minutes the way my lane does. Different skeleton. Different opening. Different way of reporting up—less “notulensi rapat” and more laporan kegiatan ke pimpinan, the kind that starts with salam and mohon izin and then walks I through VII like someone will actually read it.

So the note from Pakansari was not “make AI smarter.” It was: put his format in as a template. Let people pick. Do not pretend one voice fits every deputy.

The second note was ruder and more correct: kamu masih ngetik transkrip? People come back from a room with an .m4a on their phone, not a clean transcript sitting in Notion. If the tool is supposed to make life easier, audio should be able to walk in first.

I did not implement it on the plastic table. I ate. I lost the argument. I went home with two tickets that were not in Jira.

What landed after

The site now has both, because he was right and I was irritated enough to listen.

Versi lama / versi baru. Old track stays: numbered discussion, hasil rapat, tindak lanjut. New track is the laporan-kegiatan shape he described—latar belakang, tujuan, pelaksanaan, capaian, kendala, tindak lanjut, kesimpulan. Default is the new one. His homework, sitting on the tab strip.

Audio ke teks. Drop a recording, pick Indonesia / English / auto, get a transcript in the box, then generate. Vercel still throws a tantrum if you try to ship an 18 MB file in one gulp, so the browser now chops the long ones. That part is less romantic than Pakansari. It is still the same request: stop making humans be the speech-to-text layer.

Honest ending

I went to hang out. I came back with a backlog.

That is probably the correct conversion rate for a Saturday with someone from another deputy. You think you are showing off a finished tool. They look at it like a colleague, not like an audience, and they tell you which two pieces would actually get used in their corridor.

The tool is still a draft-maker, not a signature. I still read the output before it goes upstairs. I just stopped pretending one template and a blank textarea was “done.”

If you are in the same mess: try it. If your deputy writes minutes differently, that is not a personality problem. That is a tab. And if your evidence is still a voice note from the car, that is not laziness. That is how the week actually looks.
